Anyone else hearing System ID C51E on control channel 868.5875?

Believe I have also heard it on control channel 867.4625.

Thinking this is the new Mint Hill TRS.

No talkgroup activity.

Sure am. My 396 is showing site C51eh. Kind of strange with the extra "h".
I am about 3 miles from the Mint Hill border and the signal is coming in a 5 bars.
What makes you think it's the Mint Hill TRS, though?

Nice catch

Control channel decoding software shows no "h".

The "h" is just something Uniden tacks on. Supposedly stands for hex.

Wondered about that myself when I first got my 396.

System is running on 868.0625 for CC at the moment.

Big difference in signal compared to Pineville up here in Hickory.

I need a little education about this ID code. Does each trunk radio system have an ID such as this and are they unique? How do you see it on a scanner? For example I have a 780, 95, and a 246; would any of those show an ID code? Thanks guys.

I'm pretty sure that the site ID decode from the CC is specific to the 396, 330 and the new 996 and BCT15

True for Motorola systems.

If you modify a scanner with a discriminator tap (a point in the radio circuit that provides cleaner audio) you can also use various freeware programs to pull data from control channel streams.

the 'h'

And also, uniden tacks on a 'h' at the end of the system ids to indicate that it is 'H'ex

Any update on this system?
Does it normally take this long to get these things rolling?
I've set up my 330 to tape and log this system this week.
I'll let you know if anything comes up.

Bonus-

It could take months and months and months to get a larger system operational. It all depends on how quickly they can install radios, do electrical upgrades if necessary for the dispatch centers, install new dispatch consoles, do firmware upgrades once the system is installed, integrate software from other vendors (such as dispatch software), train users, program subscriber radios, and drive test for coverage guarantees.

In some cases it could take years. In Mint Hill's case, probably 6 to 8 months.

Why would they bother beginning to transmit a control channel so early in the process?
To meet the construction deadline requirement of the license grant.

Also, this system license is filed with slow growth implementation.

Simply means they will phase in users over a 5 year schedule.

With that kind of timeline, I guess I can unhook the 330 from the PC and turn off the logging!!
Could be quite some time.

Check it from time to time.

It will be probably be like Pineville as far as activity.

I guess they order first then try to figure out how to pay later.

They stated in their application 560 radios total.
