Am loving my new BC396 and ARC396-Pro, but have a question regarding locking out and enabling Systems. How is it different to enable, say, a System in QuickKey or Bank #5 which contains State Police (SP) by A) Func-Selecting over to that name and pressing L/O to make the little L/O go away vs. B) while scaning pressing 5 and having S0:*****5 come up? Smetimes I'll press 5 while scanning and SP doesn't start scanning- otehrs I'll press and it will start. Does it have to be unlocked with Func-Sel > L/o first then toggles in the Scan mode???

Thanks!

Why lock-out systems when you can just assign them a quick key?? I only use the lockout property when I'm dealing with a group of systems assigned to one quickkey that I rarely listen to.

If you listen to a system frequently but sometimes want it off, just assign it a quickkey (for example, "5") and all you need to do is press "5" while scanning (you must have keylock OFF) to enable or disable it in the scan list.

But yes the easiest way to lock/unlock a system is to do hold F and [SCROLL] and while still holding F hit L/O on the system you want to lock/unlock.
