I have 2 sampling input signals going into an adapter that has 2 mono inputs that output a stereo signal. I plug the stereo sampling input signal into my sound card and have 2 receivers configured. One receiver's sampling input port is the right channel, the other the left..

Observations:
1. The scope only works in the first receiver created.
2. Activity occurs only for the first receiver created.
3. Even if I slide the stereo balance all the way to the left or right, only the display for the first receiver created is affected.
4. If I slide the stereo balance all the way left or right, all data is "logged" in only 1 TRS, corrupting the LCNs.

Questions:
1. Is there anything I am missing, or is this feature still being tweaked?
2. How would a controlled scanner follow the 2 sampling input signal sources?

In the scope ... you're supposed to see two traces - red and blue for the left/right signals.

This feature was working but it isn't used often.

2. How would a controlled scanner follow the 2 sampling input signal sources?

You can assign a priority (or rank) to each TG. If - while the controlled scanner is monitoring one TG, a higher priority group becomes active - then the controlled scanner will be pre-empted with the new talkgroup.

You can also have multiple controlled scanners (if your ears can stand it).

As a side note, are the two systems being monitored related in some way? For example: are they two different sites on the same Smart Zone system?

How would a multiple controlled scanner configuration be set up? Would it need a priority scheme also?

The sites are not related.

Thanks,

The priority allows one TG to preempt another. The two or more controlled scanners "race" for the next active TG. When a conversation ends, that radio becomes available for the next conversation. If all controlled scanners are busy and a high(er) priority TG becomes active, then the scanner monitoring a TG with the lowest priority gets pre-empted.

Of course, most folks don't own multiple disc. tapped radios and computer controlled scanners to fully exploit this feature.

I have 2 instances of T4Win running with 1 stereo input to line in. I see 1 trace in both instances during sampling and it is fuscia in color. When there is no signal to the sampling input signal port in the left channel, the trace is red and horizontal in both T4Win instances, but T4Win is decoding. When there is no signal to the right channel, the trace is fuscia and exactly like the "mixed" stereo trace.

So it seems like only the left channel is being traced, but decoding takes place on both channels.

(I am using a 20 yr old Radio Shack mixer to suply the sampling input signal.)
