I have been monitoring the start up of what will be a 66 site EDACS network in CT and MA.

I can run ETrunk48 on it but the system ID will not show. I am getting LCN's and talkgroups but the header just says "unknown NetWkd". The system ID remains at 1234. I am getting 100% strength so that is not the problem. When I run T4Win on it, I get 100% Edacs48 and a line that says: Neighbor lcn=1, id=0018 This is repeated every 15 lines while the other lines show idle.

I thought that perhaps the system would show the system ID once they started using it but I have seen activity and still no ID. I tried making a xxxxsys.txt file for 0018 but it is not recognized by ETrunk.

Looking for ideas .... thanks

I don"t think Edacs systems have a system ID such as Motorola systems. T4Win will give it either Edacs 4800 or Edacs 9600. And if its networked you already know from your post. If they are networked the sys id's will be 0001, 0002 and so forth. I think thats all you gonna get.

EDACS systems do have an ID but the number of ID's is small compared to Motorola. As I recall, if the system ID was left at 0000, Etrunk does not handle it and will display 1234.

The EDACS control channel message that announces "this" site vs. a neighboring site was being decoded in an ambiguous way. The program never sees the "this is site XX" message so it never knows which system it is monitoring.

This has been fixed in the latest code. When UniTrunker comes out, it should handle this correctly. Eventually this fix (and more) will make it into ETrunk and T4Win.

We have non-networked EDACS systems here. System 0004 was re-channeled a while ago and they left the site ID set at 0000 for a few months. DOS Etrunk reported the site as 1234 until they caught up with the mistake and reset it to 0004. I think ED.EXE correctly reported the site as 0000.

Hello,

Is this system in Western Ma and CT? I have copied some EDACS SCAT sites for a CT power company on UHF.

What is the fix so I can correct the DOS version? I am working at some code cleanup currently and got the OpenWatcom compiler to compile it.

I guess I need to do a trip out to Western Ma to test the fix.

This is the new Northeast Utilities 900 MHz (narrow) EDACS system covering all of thier service area in CT and western Mass. They are building 66 sites and 4000+ units with a mix of voice and data. The one talkgroup I saw so far was analog.

The site I am hearing is on Talcott Mountain on the Simsbury/ Bloomfield line. Unsure if they have any others up yet.
