just a couple of things, does anybody know of a program that is similar to t4win that will decode flashcall for an ltr talkgroup. if there is can some one help me out. also something that will work with motorola smart-net and decode the same info or that can be limited to one talkgroup.

Flashcall? I'm getting mixed descritions of this feature - OTAR to the radio - includes ability to set speech inversion settings, and ANI from the radio.

This appears to be subaudible inline signalling.

Anyone got more info?

t4win

rfmobile, we use an 8616 radio with ani chip to get info on that unit. it is filtered to modem and run on tcad program. the modem is a transcript 30-3060, the chip is used for bus numbers for each unit. Gstar800

This makes sense for LTR, but who would want this for SmartNet? You already have a radio id to serve as your ANI.

Are the radios a bunch of portables that are issued from a pool so the actual user changes from day to day? You mentioned bus numbers so maybe that's the answer.

we are in the process of upgrading our radio system from ltr to smart-net. the question is there a program that will run both with little changes to the system. the radios are all mobiles and need to be tracked by the different agencies dispatchers.

right know i have a dispatcher who needs a setup that if possible will do both.

yes, we do have a stock of radios and that is why we use ani for schools.

rick,

we are looking at purchasing 2 different kinds of radios,
motorola and ef johnson.

to my knowledge it will probably be ef johnson because it will display the id of the calling radio, and motorola will not.

we will be using analog smart-net.

i am looking for something that will work know with ltr and later with smart-net.

I don't have anything along the lines of PC software to do this ...

Would this serve your needs for the dispatchers to see who's who?

http://www.cimtechcorp.com/anidecode.htm

For future reference, USPTO #5583885 and USPTO #5493582 look very informative (1600 hz carrier PSK at 400 bits per second).

What would be nice is if the radios came with a smart card or "sim" slot - and cheaper too - cards are like $1 a piece?

There is no LTR decoding as yet in T4Win. Even if there was - LTR does not provide ANI. The program would have to also decode MDC1200, GE Start 400, or GE Star 800. These can be done but would take some time.
