I am trying to monitor/decode a system in Spain. It is a Type II system (UHF) with the control channels in the 462.XXXX MHz range.

Is T4WIN suppose to give the frequency when every transmission is made? The only data that I get is the LCN. I want the frequencies for the system to pop up, but they don't.

Now, every time I try to open the existing file, it always wants me to input the control frequency and it 'adds' a new system. How do I get around this? The options on the pop-up window are "channel" or "Cancel". The drop-down box to chose a system is greyed out and has no options. How do I add my existing system to that box?

Do I have my settings set wrong? Or will it not decode the frequencies in use?

I'm using a Pro-2006 running through a sound card. I get a wave on the scope, 100% decoding on the bottom left and there is no static on my scanner. I may just be missing something stupid. If so, please help me out.

How do I add my system to the "Pick from a list of compatible systems"?

Where do I need to save the systems that I save?

I created a folder called 'systems' in the t4win folder...

c:\Program Files\T4WIN\Systems\

Did I set this up wrong? What am I doing wrong?

There's a flaw right now where some bogus channels will appear. You'll have to manually delete them.

No but there are some tools to fill these out for you. See the Tools menu. The simplest thing to do is manually key in the frequenies for each channel. For a little less typing,on a UHF system, fill in at least two channels and use the Extrapolate tool menu item.

Now, every time I try to open the existing file, it always wants me to input the control frequency and it 'adds' a new system. How do I get around this? It should match the SYSID ... try hitting "Cancel" and waiting for the popup to appear again. It may be catching a false SYSID. This is a problem related to the false channels above.

Do I have my settings set wrong? Or will it not decode the frequencies in use?

Your settings are probably correct.

You definitely want to fill in the frequency of the active control channel. This will help the decoder determine the type (UHF and not 800/900) of system.

See above response.

Sounds like you're doing it already ... File -> Save.

I created a folder called 'systems' in the t4win folder...

c:\Program Files\T4WIN\Systems\

You can save the files anywhere. The next time you run T4Win and before you start decoding, use the menu File -> Open to open your saved radio system information.

I'm not sure what happened, but I had to make a new system. The old one would not work no matter what I did. It would alway create a new system any time that I clicked on the old one. Anyway, it's working right now. I accidentally clicked the "extrapolate" and it filled in everything. I already had all of the control channels, so the others just filled in. I suppose I'll just have to figure out the input frequencies, right? Or will the "extrapolate" button work for this too?

Thank you for the great program.

I think it only extrapolates output frequencies. There's been some work to store both input and output channel numbers. Once that's done it will be able to do the same for VHF/UHF input frequencies.
