Good question,

A tablet is a computer. If the tablet is running Windows 7, 8, 10 or the like, it should work. The main difference is going to be if the tablet has the ports you need, like USB, Ethernet, audio ports etc.

Tablets also run other operating systems like Android and that may work too. Much will depend on the streaming software and if it will run on the Operating System the tablet uses. Again, there may also be an issue about ports I mentioned.

You can definitely use a tablet. Just search the forums it's been covered several times. You can also use a raspberry pi if you're looking for an even smaller form factor.

I have a QMV7B Android tablet from Verizon that I wanted to use . So just trying to ask around about it .

Hi raven315:

Trying to set-up and run a feed using a tablet (depending on which one) may be more trouble than it's worth. As noted above, there are several things to consider from a hardware/software perspective. Can you provide a bit more detail regarding your feed (i.e. scanner make & model, what your feed will be broadcasting, are you planning to send alpha tags with your feed etc.). Assuming your feed will be put up on Radio Reference, the link below has some good info on how to set-up & optimize the audio:

Right now I have the feed live right now . im using a hp desktop computer wireless connection for internet for now . basic audio cable for now , bcd435 till my xtl5000 is setup . streaming the twin valley FC 69 channels , but would like to get things on a tablet so it would not take as much room . I was looking at one of those Bluetooth wireless units that I can connect to the tablet wirelessly to feed the audio into the tablet . Any Advise welcome .
