Tacoma PD

I’m listening to Tacoma PD today and switched the scanner over from ID Scan to ID Search. I’m hearing police activity on TGID 272 but cannot identify what agency it is. Tacoma PD uses TGIDs like 53XXX and 54XXX, but there’s definitely police traffic on TGID 272. Would it be a simulcast of County or WSP? I am still listening trying to hear who identifies.

Well, I heard a call for Lakewood PD, which is dispatched on Pierce County West, so I’m leaning towards a simulcast or mutual aid. It’s not a simulcast of the LERN traffic, I checked that. There seems to be much more traffic than PC West though, so I’m now wondering if it’s a simulcast of East and West? No, that wouldn’t make much sense.

And what about the three character TGID?

It's not on 'Site 2', the Puyallup trunk.

Yes 272 sounds like a scanner..... They were up on Puyallup today messing around on TG 336 and ENC 45168 jumping back and forth testing.

I picked up a new group on Tacoma today that sounds like some kind of Pub Wrks job - 54160.

The entire range of 45xxx TGIDS are digital encrypted nearly full time. The radio techs were hiding any misc chit chat about what they were doing.
