I provide the feed Salt Lake City / County Police, Fire, and UHP with the Homepatrol 1/2 and I know there is a way to provide tags to the feed but don't know how to do it. can someone guide me in the right direction where to find this? There is one in Weber County that tells you who is talking with the application through the play store but again I don't know how to do it.

Monzie.......First off I use ScannerCast! You must have your audio and Serial cable, which you probably already have!

(1) Go to your 'FEED DETAILS' page and check mark box! See attach.

(2) Make sure you set your rear or front port to 115200 bps baud rate! (Important)

(3) Your computer must match your scanner to communicate! Go into device manager and find the appropriate port and set it's properties to 115200 bps!

(4) Becoming a Feed Provider - The RadioReference Wiki
Go to this link and do some reading! This is really the best way to get everything organized!

Good Luck! I hope this helps! You will get it! Is not as hard as it looks! Thanks

I have the Homepatrol Extreme on both the HP 1 and 2 and I also have the Uniden USB-1 Scanner Radio PC Interface Cable. I have tried both Scannercast and Radio Feed to try and get the Alpha Tags on my feed and I dont know what I am doing or not doing correctly but it will not work. Can someone please help. Thanks.

Do you have the HP-1 Extreme installed?

1. Go to the RadioFeed Metadata tab (shown below) and set the port number to the same port that the Windows Device Manager shows.
2. Put in the Custom Format box %C.
3. The Scanner Data light should flash indicating good comms with the scanner.
4. You should see the Text Tags in the Metadata if everything is set up correctly.

Use WinAmp or VLC to see if you get the Text Tags.

Yes I have the Extreme Installed

Yes I do have Extreme.
Do I need to do anything on the scanner?
I received the serial cable that plugs into the GPS slot on the scanner but when i look in the device manager it has a yellow circle thing that says something about a driver error. i think all these issues i have might be because the drivers for the cable might be missing and i don't know where to get them.

Possible Error

I might have found the possible problem. I was looking a the device manager and seen that the serial driver for the HomePatrol is not installed. I don't know how to install it. I have an Alienware 3.2 GHZ 8GB HD and Windows 8.1 I don't know exactly how to do it but if anyone can help.

I have the Homepatrol 1 Extreme with the Uniden USB-1 Scanner Radio PC Interface Cable connected. I downloaded Radio Feed and have followed all the steps in this feed. I have done everything correctly so the thing that is blocking the info from transferring has to be the Serial Driver for the Homepatrol. If someone knows how to get this accomplished I am needing help. I am trying to add the Alpha Tags on my scanner feed through Broadcastify.

1st step is installing the driver. The following link will help with that. Scroll down to the Serial Drivers links.

Unsure on What to do.

Proscan Thank you very much for that. I opened the link and downloaded the driver. I am not sure what I need to do to make this work. I don't know how to install the driver. I attached a screen shot of what I see when I open the link for the drivers.

Using the same link as before, you should see this link on the page "HomePatrol-1 v2 Extreme Manual" It doesn't show how to for Win 8.1 but I imagine it to be similar.

Search the manual for "Installing Serial Drivers"

I have tried to install the drivers but it still shows that yellow icon and displays HOMEPATROL-1 CDC Drivers not installed. I dont know what to do. From what I read, Windows 8.1 is very hard to install drivers. The screen shot above shows the yellow icon error I am getting, and then when I open the link Proscan sent me it displays the other screen shots I posted which only has text written. What can I do to fix this or is there something I need to do with the text? I have the audio/serial cable, I also upgraded to the Homepatrol Extreme before I started and extreme is active. Installation of windows 8.1 serial drivers seems like its impossible to install.
