To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

A bit of a long shot...

I don't suppose anybody knows how to program 4 conventional channels into a Series 2 Tait T2030 Trunked radio?

It can be done but its just a question of knowing how. I've tried adding the 4 conventional channel with frequencies but the radio doesn't do any thing because its still in trunked mode. I've used up all my T2010 conventional boards and the only thing I have is T2010 firmware but I don't know how to flash that to the radio.

The best way would be to program the Tait T2030 with 4 conventional channels in the Trunked Tait application... if anybody knows how it would save me having to hunt for another T2010 board.

Thanks.

OK I take it nobody knows....

Maybe this question might be easier....

If anybody knows how to program a conventional channel into a trunked radio "any radio" I read something about the channel needing to be added to a trunking network... I don't understand trunking so if there is any life out there and you know about how to add conventional channels to a trunked system then please let me know.
