• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have a Tait TM9100 HHCH Hand Held Control Head P25 Digital VHF Mobile Radio. I"m looking for a program and cable to add frequencies, etc. I looked on ebay and only found some from outside the USA.

What's the problem with them being from outside the US?

Nothing really. Just takes about a month to get it.

I have had stuff come from Britain, and it arrived in very short order... YMMV.

Tait is not overly common in North America. Top shelf gear, especially the T-800 series 2 repeaters.

Seems like the places that have the cable and program are 4-6 deliver to here

It maybe just an estimate. Could get to you quicker though.

Mind posting a link? Where is the stuff coming from? You may be able to get the seller to send it a quicker method.

The software you require is called TAIT TM91000/TP9100/ TM9400/TP9400 Programming Application APCO P25. and is often bundled with firmware and the calibration software program. Be sure you use the calibration software to copy your radio settings prior to any firmware update either down grade or upgrade.

Yes your radio is narrow band 12.5khz compliant and the B1 model suits 2m, H5 models 70cm and H6 our domestic 80 channel UHF CBRS

I couldn't say what the latest revision is but I'm using version 2.3.1.3 and i believe it is a fairly recent revision.

Did you bother to contact Tait USA sales as they will sell genuine cables (adaptable for mobile and H/H applications) and software to most legitimate end users.

A three second eBay search found a vendor (assumed legitimate source) still advertising software in Yonkers, New York and I've seen aftermarket mobile programming cables on the east coast of Australia for mail order at AUD $ 29.00 and another vendor in New York selling cables for USD $ 39.00.

I'm in Australia and this radio series is very popular here in the mining community and the rural fire brigades amongst other industries. We have a fleet of them as do many customers and use them in mixed modes. Tait and Motorola are the dominant vendors in our business.

Be aware that Tait do release dealer and customer specific versions of their programming software as it assists with volume roll outs of industry specific functions for fleet and dealer customers. If your radio has been programmed with a dealer or customer specific software versions you will need to refresh the firmware prior to being able to start using Tait standard programming software to make changes. You can do this yourself with a little patience and some homework.

I enjoy the RR forums and don't wish to be flogged on policies around software and the like but there is a wealth of technical support in the public domain for these radios if you spent only a few minutes googling.
