Talk Group 1016 active now

I’m listening to talk group 1016 which is an “event channel” on the Michigan P25 system. I’m listening from Ishpeming in the central upper peninsula. I’ve been listening to that talk group for 4 days. They sound like they are searching a grid for something. I never hear anything like a community or lake or highway to help identify where they are, other than an occasional reference to “section 33”. No reference to military or MSP or any sheriff department. Anyone else listening to this? A real puzzler.

That’s got to be what I’m hearing. It fits with what I’m hearing and definitely sounds like a search. Usually when listening to an Event Channel, enough info will be stated that it’s fairly quickly evident what’s going on. Thanks for your input; that clarifies it. I hope he’s found safely, but it’s been too long I fear.

Our State K9 unit from the neighborhood (2 dogs) has been gone since Saturday Morning working on this. I hope they can find something.

They found the young man yesterday, but the outcome was not good, other than closure for the family.
