WS1010: Talk group ID

When I put in the ID # of the talk group for local polce and sheriff I don't hear anything, about ready to give up.

Ankeny is on the SARA network trunked system, it is P25 Phase 2 and the WS1010 can not receive it

Welcome to the RR forums:
For starters you need a P25 Phase-II capable scanner (Which the Whistler WS1010 is not) to pick up any traffic on this system. See "Scanner support for TDMA list here. Also talkgroups ID'ed as mode "TE" are fully encrypted and cannot be monitored by any receiver

Sorry I meant ws1040 don't hear anything after putting in ID #s for des moines police and Ankeny police

The WS1040 is a P25 Phase 1 scanner. It will receive Phase 1 systems, but will not receive Phase 2 systems.
