Town police and the sheriff's office unit numbers go by their agency # + rank.

A chief or the sheriff is is their agency # plus 01
Major is 02
Capt= 03
Lt.= 04-09
Sgt= 10-19
Cpl= 20-29
Officers/ Deputies= 30+

Sheriff's Office- Staff is 21xx, Investigators are 22xx, Road Patrol are 23xx
For example the Sheriff is 2101, 2205 would be a CID Lt, and 2352 would be a road deputy, while 2310 would be a patrol sgt.

Since the towns were always started with those numbers anyway (37x timberville, 39x for Elkton, etc.) - all they have done it take the old co unit numbers for depts and expand on them and add 2 segments for the SO. What do the Animail Control id as, or are they not that far along yet - they used to be 5xx?

What is HPD using for identifiers and is JMU going to be on this system?

Animal Control is still the same (units 650 & 651).

HPD didn't change.

JMU... there is a link on the TRS for JMU, but I don't know if it is activated. As far as I know they are staying uhf. All the outside county m/a stuff is not activated at this time (as far as I know).
