Talkgroup 21328 On Pal 800 - Any Idea Who ?

21328 with short voice traffic - nothing distinct - off the Newport site on the Palmetto 800 system.

I've logged the TG in use before for short conversations, but haven't been able to I-D.

Any ideas on who this is ?

If they use the call sign of "I" units, then it is what is listed as Memorandum units, and what I know of them doing is recovering suspended tags off vehicles, etc. It apparently is a statewide tg, I hear them in Kingstree also.

I believe that the "I" units are also involved with insurance enforcement. They are listed on the SCHP website as Troop 10.

That talkgroup is also active on cells in the Midlands area.

SCHP Troop I is indeed Specail Investigations into Tag/Registration Fraud. They also work closely with other regular troopers in Stolen Vehicle Recovery, and with SCDMV as sort of a secondary Enforcement arm. For your Commercial Enforcement stuff the SCTP is who handles that. If you go North and hit NC,.. then you have the NCDMV Enforcement Patrol that takes all the stuff from Tag/Reg Fraud, to Commercial Vehicle Enforcement. Just don't get me started on SC's issues with the DMV,.. like even if you call when someone first gets in thier offices in the morning your on hold for like 3 hours just to get basic info,... and walking into a DMV office,.. NO COMMENT LOL!
