Talkgroup 39584 on Fleetnet (Hamilton site)

Mornin' all,

Yesterday afternoon I logged GID 39584 on the Hamilton site. Heard an announcement for 'all bailiffs to be present for the meeting' or something to that effect. Didn't hear much else for the rest of the afternoon until bedtime...

Does this ring any bells for anyone as far as known users on the system? As far as I know bailiffs are not governmental agents or peace officers per se, they're licensed professionals similar to private investigators...I should say, similar in their position within the legal system, not similar in the kind of work they do.

My guess: There was alot of activity up in Newmarket for the Alicia Ross murder.
680 and 1010 mentioned a huge police presence at the courthouse.
Perhaps Corrections or whomever was up there used this t/g?

Good call, Eric. I hadn't thought of that.

It wouldn't have been corrections in Newmarket. The Newmarket courts use the York Region radios on TG 16 and the suspect at that time had not been turned over to corrections but was still in custody of the police and was transported by detectives. Court transportation in York is also on the York Police system ususally on the one district air even when tranporting from corrections facilities. When extra police are on at the courts here they usually use another one of the York tac channels or the same court channel.

I think if this activity had been on Fleetnet it would likely not have been on the Hamilton site but either King or Edgar. Hope this helps narrow it down a bit closer.

It's still a bit of a mystery...I haven't seen this talkgroup or the associated RIDs since the day I first heard them.

I have a hard time believing court/jail security are even referred to as bailiffs...Night Court it ain't...
