A while back I updated the Glendale PD talkgroup list after hearing Techs do a channel by channel test. I posted them and they were actually on for a while and now they are gone. Why does Radio Reference ask for this information and then remove it? The exact talkgroups that was removed was the PD channel 14(Talkgroup-1001). This channel is a TOU Tac channel for reference. Anybody have similar situation? Just curious.
Another Database Administrator removed 1001 because we received two seperate reports that it was not a valid talkgroup, one with information on radio programming and knowledge that it was not programmed into PD radios. Given that 1001 is way outside the normal progression of Glendale's talkgroup numbers, these reports seemed reliable.
One report reads "I don't believe the 1001 listing for Glendale is a valid talkgroup. I've monitored them every day since they went digital and 1001 has never been used."
You need to remember that RadioReference.com has tens of thousands of users submitting information, so when we ask for information and then a small portion ends up removed, it is fair to assume that is because a number of other users questioned it. If we were to fail to remove a talkgroup, you and I would then read someone on this board saying "I tried to correct Radio Reference's incorrect talkgroup but they never deleted the bad talkgroup... Why would they ask for accurate information and then not remove the innaccurate information I report? Anybody have a similar situation?"
I have added back your channel 14, talkgroup 1001. We'll see what additional reports we get as a result, and I will post them here for you to be aware of.
