Most of the time they will use TAC 10, TAC 11 or TAC 12 for special events like the assesment at the KS colosium, but Century 2 is in WPD South district so most of the action if any will be on those channels.

S.C.E.M. may also run for FEMA admin operations as well...

Remeber this is just an educated guess...If they wanted to be discrete then they could go to TA North and encrypt everything.

As of this morning, 09/12/05, KNSS Radio is reporting that none of the expected evacuees are coming to Wichita now. The City of Wichita had set up space for up to 1800 people and was planning on at least 500. The radio station is reporting that none of the evacuees want to leave now (or they just don't want to come to Kansas!!) and that they intend to stay and rebuild.

There have been several other smaller groups arrive already in Kansas. I know that just here in Harvey County, the town of Halstead has taken over a closed motel and is housing 16 people right now from Mississippi for an indefinite period. Several other families and individuals have also settled here in Newton in publicly-owed housing.

It appears now, that dispite the official "abandonment" of the City of New Orleans, most of the displaced intend to return to New Orleans and rebuild.....n0lqt-.-

This certainly has been one really good training exercise for several communities in Kansas. I know in Salina, the planning and setting up of our reception area at the airport, health assesment pre screening, shelters and transportation was very time comsuming and labor intensive. As our Emergency Management Director said this experience has been great, you can never get these many people, to be involved for such a long time in any training exercise.

Salina plans to do some limited training at the airport tomorrow on the intake process.

Thanks...

Fellow Kansans,

Thank you for your preparation and willingness to help those from LA. I grew up in ICT and now live in Baton Rouge. I keep up with my parents who still live there and they ask me if everything is as bad as they show. About 9% of what is on TV is true. Many of those that I work with were on the front lines and in some situations it was worse then reported and there are somethings that the public will never hear about. I monitor the frequencies down here and they have been very active.

Thanks again for offering to help. I think in the days ahead as those that left NO realize their situation, then more people will begin to relocate in other areas.
