I am going to be in Talladega for the race next week and am thinking about bringing my scanner. Is there anything interesting to listen to around that area. I plan on downloading the are Fire department systems into the scanner.

Check out the Alabama First Responder Network (AFRN) that is the primary system used in Calhoun, Talladega Counties. I believe the Speedway also has assigned talkgroups that are used during race weekends. Be sure and monitor the AFRN Interop talkgroups as the event will deploy public safety officers from throughout the area
