Locally I have seen several departments sending patrol cars, fire apparatus and such. This post caught my eye on bay-news9. At the bottom they mention a 75ft antenna, if other departments are going would they do the same thing?? Would the 800 systems that they have work or would they use some of the old UHF-VHF freqs that they might still possibly have and be licensed to.

The picture in that artical is a friend of mines truck he is part of the MCSO Farm he left this morning at 3am with 200gal of diesel 500 of gas and 100 gal of bottle water. The tower is for there EDACS system It's kinda like a little dispatch center it is so Depuites and county workers can still use their 800mhz radios I do not know if they use only conv 800mhz Mutial aid system or the full EDACS.... as it sounded to me it was the full system....
