So I was listening to Tampa pd and air4 said they were switching to citywide. I did a little research and came up with talkgroup.10-016.
Can anyone confirm this... have you heard anything on this talk group.
RR shows it as FD talk group but someone said it is now tpd citywide however this info was in 2012.
Thanks for any help.

10-016 is indeed citywide, irrelevant of city agency.

Thus "countywide," although listed under sheriff, it's used by multiple agencies.

Is this maybe used as a hailing channel for the air units so they don't have to listen to all the dispatch channels?

TPD aviation unit monitors A MAIN when on the ground. The A MAIN dispatcher will hail them if they're needed to switch to another channel. When airborne they monitor whatever sector they're in or responding to.

CITYWIDE is used when TPD and TFD units need to communicate directly. It just isn't used often.
