Tarheel Scanner Meeting Next Monday Dec 14

The next Tarheel Scanner/Shortwave Club meeting will be Next Monday Night, December 14th, 2009. As usual we will be meeting at the Red, Hot & Blue Restaurant on Falls of Neuse Rd in Northeast Raleigh. Dinner at 6:30pm with the meeting at 7:30pm. This will be a Christmas Giveaway meeting. Have old Radio Related magazines taking up space at home? Bring them and we will give them a new home via a drawing. Have old radios you don't use anymore taking up space? Bring them and we will hold a drawing and get them to a home where they will be used. Have old electronics parts and pieces just collecting dust? Bring 'em. We will draw names and divide up everything. All we ask is that you limit what you bring to radio related or electronic related objects.

Just a reminder of tonight's meeting.

A little more info on the topic from the Yahoo group:

Please try to arrive by 6:30 if you are planning on having dinner so
that we can place our food orders quickly as not to delay the start of
the meeting.

December is our annual magazine swap and junk box give away. Here is
how this works. We ask you to bring any old, new, surplus or unwanted
radio or computer related items to the meeting to be placed in the
give away.

Everyone gets to pull their name from a hat, and one at a time, gets
choice of an item(s). The same is done for magazines. There is
always more stuff to go around than we have takers. It is a great time
and favorite meeting for all that attend. So start sorting through all
your old magazines and junk boxes at home and see what you can find.

Also, we'll have a little time to discuss current monitoring and radio
events. So, if you have any other radio related news, please share it
with the group.
