Taser effect

At the beginning of some P25's you can hear this silent jolt-type effect that sounds like a taser firing. Any idea what that is? There's really no interference because everythings coming in loud and clear.

I made a special request to paul to include that feature and he honered it, it makes you feel like you out there in the field with the cops.

You are hearing undecoded P25 signal. Depending on what scanner you have, there are things you can do to reduce or eliminate the noise.

It's not a problem, just wondered if anyone else noticed it.

It's a 396 and it probably needs to go in the shop the way it's been acting. Public Safety doesn't have a problem but I get more dead spots as time goes by.

What version of firmware are you running?

The latest version includes a delay at the beginning of transmissions that allows the scanner to evaluate the signal in order to prevent the unmuted data.
