As previously noted, this year not much has changed located in Grant Park, Chicago Fire Dept. has used the frequencies of 477.5125 (SIM-NO) and 478.4625 (SIM-SO) in the past few years. EMS Command (462.975 CTCSS 156.7) is being used sporadically. Grant Park also is under EMS-North & Fire Main. Med-Carts 1 & 2, Fire-Cart 1, Special Events Ambulances 71 & 72 have been heard so far. July 3rd during the fireworks, you will hear the most activity. O.E.M.C. is monitoring these Digital Channels as well. They appear as SIM-NO & SIM-SO at this time on our radios.

C.P.D. is utilizing City-Wide 6 (460.250...CTCSS 162.2) is being used as previous years. The Primary Zone around Grant Park is Zone 4 (460.150..CTCSS 114.8)

During the previous years, City-Wide 5 (460.350.. CTCSS 97.4) was used as perimeter traffic control on July 3rd. Keep this one around for later.

The Chicago Park District utilizes a low-power 450 Mhz. system for their operations.

Any further info available about the Chicago Park District "low power 450 Mhz" system? Freqs? Conventional or trunked? Used year 'round or just for Taste? I know that there is a commercial UHF LTR system in place at Soldier Field, and that the park district is licensed for a UHF T-band trunked system there too (licensed shortly before the commercial LTR system was found), but I've never heard those freqs in use there.
