Does anyone know how to receive the new digital radio system for the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office? I was told that the scanner frequencies did not change and that they are using Nexedge. I have a RadioShack Pro 197. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As I understant it, there are no scanners on the market that can directly receive NEXEDGE transmissions

It'll need a disc tap on your radio to feed your computer's sound card for software to decode it (any scanner with a disc tap that will pick up the signal is good since the decode isn't being done on the scanner).

"Digital Speech Decoder" software is available that will decode NEXEDGE. The scanner requires a discrimanator tap to get the datastream to the sound card of a computer. There are others on this forum that know how to do this.

I don't have any experience with it but there is a DSD for windows.

yes i see that they did make it avl for windows awesome i was useing it on ubuntu with great results but useing it on windows would be nice i'll have to give it a try
