Indirectly, I found myself at the WLO web site and saw an interesting picture:

The loops intrigued me. They are "TCI Loops" --

You've got to be pretty meticulous with your building to get 4 or more identical home brew loops to phase. I can never get just one to be perfectly balanced, the pattern is always skewed.

There was one guy phasing 4 commercial loops for AM BCB DXing, but even that's gotta be tough.
