Question: I am wondering who provided the very nice Channel line up for TDCJ-ID in the RR-DB?

Reason: I hear Tennessee Colony, Palestine, Gatesville very well. I am 13 miles from the Cole and Moore units in Bonham, and when Skip is good I can hear Huntsville (Wynne Unit) Extreemly well.

In Bonham I am hearing Choice Moore unit on 153.7850 PL: 100.0 and Buster Cole unit on 154.9950 PL: 67.0 INPUT-155.0250. in addition, I have NEVER heard activity on 153.7550 at either facility even when I am paying my power bill to Fannin Co. Co-op electric about 100 yards from the Radio tower neer the front gate to the unit(s).
153.8150 seems to be a common repeater input for TDCJ but, it is use already for the Bonham Police Repeater.

Please, Whoever you are that is polishing the Brass on the TDCJ-ID bandplan, RESPOND to this post so we might figure some things out.

I hear Northern Area Maintenence OR Texas Correctional Industries on 154.1150 PL: 100.0 and Chain Busses occassionally on 153.9050-100.0, Intercity Car to Car and on the Cole repeater. and I noticed the other day, TDCJ-ID has licensed use of V-CALL under the Texas VHF Inter-Operability plan. not mention ALL MED-10 assignments, 155.2050 and 155.3400. where do they fall into the Band plan. Moore and Cole Use Bonham EMS for their stabbing's and the like.

Anyways. it would be nice to fine tune this Band Plan, TDCJ-ID is a BLAST to listen to (save for the every 30 min. counts in the darkness of the night.)

BTW Cole and Moore Officer assignments seem to number in the 8700 to 8800 catagory.

CYA!

Max,
I got a channel assignment for TDCJ statewide units that Im trying to organize for each unit- with over 100 units it gets complicated.along with the call letters. When I get finished with it Ill try to post it. The FCC call letters is just as confusing. Link: http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws..._id=19&rows=0&sndx=TDCJ%&state=TX i live in the panhandle & have these figured out- Clements, Neal, Formby, Wheeler, Montford, Allred. I also would like to correspond with you & the person who posted the freqs to clarify them, 153.905 is Ch 5 & is used statewide without a repeater. The first two numbers out the four callsign designates the unit. 9600 is Montford,6200 =Clements,7900 = Allred.

Ohhhhh, that is confusing, but makes sence. I have come to find though a Repeater pair may not be licensed in the county of use. The Main license out of Huntsville TDCJ Communications allows the frequencies to be used reguardless. (providing it dosn't interfere with another user)
Where is the Coffee unit? I got some exceptional skip Friday morning and was hearing chain busses out of Brazoria Co. Ramsey Units and Very hot Comms out of Huntsville.

Yes, 153.9050 is Ch-5 Statewide Simplex Calling. and one clairification I might suggest is the Huntsville unit is only knicknamed the "Walls" Unit. But it is actually and Simply the "Huntsville" unit.

I am trying to figure out how the UHF set's are used. 453.9875 is licensed in Bonham but, I never hear anything on it. it also seems most of the State Jails are using 154.9950 and a variety of inputs on 67.0 for Primary operations.

In addition, My guess is the Medical Units (John Sealy, HV, Skyview and Where ever Death row is now) are the licensees who use MED-10 for medical Comms.

You might Email me or PM me at your convience and Maybe we can Get TDCJ inputed corectly.

Thanks for the reply, Look forward to hearing from you on this.

if you are talking about the new addition with the 50 channel band plan, that came from me. the northern area frequencies were there already. most of the ht-1250's and mts-2000's have the 128 channels filled up with the 50 channels and local police/sheriff.
obviously, 50 channels doesn't cover every unit and frequency needed, but each unit has a couple of channels tweeked around. for instance, channel 12 when i worked at the estelle unit was 151.625. when i came to luther, channel 12 was the stainless steel plant, 158.775. plus, our luther/pack radios also have some buffalo ranch channels added into them.
if i can help you with monitoring tdcj, just ask. remember something from looking at the fcc database though. some channels are licensed as non-repeating base to mobile. but in many instances, the base channels are in fact repeaters, relaying some discreet frequencies that tdcj either has licensed under the statewide mobile license, or it may be a business frequency, such as 151.625 or 154.570. If I have spare time at work, I might try to play with my scanner and indetify the rest of the 50 channels. That is how I got the ones shown so far.
