Within the past few days, it sounds like there are radio techs on the Washington County system using talkgroup WCCCA LOAN 2. From the conversations it sounds they are working at Buxton.

Anyone else catch this?

Yep, hearing them today (Tuesday). Sounds like they are lining up a microwave link...

All of the new sites are being aligned and optimized. Buxton will become part of a 4 site 5 channel West end simulcast system to also include Round Top, Top Hill and Pumpkin Ridge.

The new sites at Cedar Hills, Burntwood and Canterbury are also currently being worked on. All of these sites and 3 of the 4 existing sites plus the WCCCA center will become part of a big microwave ring or loop. The existing site at Council Crest will eventually be de-constructed.

The current Parrett Mt. site will eventually be relocated further up on top of the hill, and a full simulcast site will be built in Hillsboro atop the building that used to house the old jail. This site will be a spur off of the ring, rather than a link in it.

Stay tuned so to speak.

All the main simulcast sites in Wash. Co. will expand from 10 to 16 channels. The exact final frequencies are not yet exactly determined. The new site at Canterbury near Tigard might possibly help you in Milw. The Parrett Mt. site may also help cover Milw. when it is in it's new higher location. Officially, Milw. is covered by the Clackamas County 800 sites. An actual public safety SmartZone radio will work on Wash Co talkgroups anywhere in Clackamas County and vice-versa. That doesn't help scanners of course. They are receive only and the system has no idea which group you are trying to listen to. Actual Motorola radios "roam" in and out seamlessly. Two talkgroups that I know almost always appear on the Clack frequencies are "South Cities" police and WCCCA fire dispatch. The others are all hit and miss depending on who has roamed over there. Try setting up a bank in your scanner with the Clackamas frequencies but fill it with all the popular Wash Co talkgroups. You'll miss some things, but what you DO hear should be loud and clear.
