After trying to update to r1.06 all i can get is a blue and red flashing screen. Does any one know what this is. I can't do anything or reset the scanner. It just sits there and flashes at me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I can't even get back to where i was before all this started.

You need to complete the update. Follow every step. If you get an error message on the PC, report the specific error message (or read the wiki article explaining the meaning of the different error messages: Firmware Upgrade - The RadioReference Wiki).
Also, for future posts, note that putting a subject line that means something will make the message easier to refer to, later. Like "Help completing the update for my BCDx96XT" instead of your handle.
