• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have here some PD78xG and I want to make use of the telemetry function as it is mentioned in the system planer manual.
In CPS, conventional, general setting there is the setting for it. The basic setting is under general settings, accessoties.
OK, under accessories, active level is high.

I managed so far to set in the sending radio a telemetry command, let say send active voltage, transmit it to other radio to the VIO1 apparently.
However at the target radio, the pin#11 just has some pulses of some 0.5V and some 20ms wide. About 4 of them.
Thats it.
No idea how to make it work.
Output measured between #11 and #6(GND) with some special adapter made from some audio connector rest.

Is there someone who made this telemetry working?
Does there exist some appnote for that?

thanks

Many thanks.

Meanwhile I have produced some aid to contact the pin11 and 6.
After some tests, I found out that it is possible to switch the output on and off and send a pulse.
However the query or report when status chnages does definitely not work with fw 9. The radios do communicate indeed, however there is no display of the status.

I will try more, but I think I am a very rare species, nobody probably does it , therefore no industry made connector for telemetry exists and therefore hytera does not spent time on it.

I will anyway try to write some report on this and pass it to hytera one day.

Or if we find someone who has some practice in it and tells me where are some changes in the fw on this part.

You can take the app note from #2 and there all is described.
Telemetry with Hytera radios means that you can for example switch something on and off or read the status of a device remotely using two radios programmed to do so.
With PD78x, one task is to wire the pin11 of the accessory connector. This is the input/output on the portable radios.
On mobile radios, I/O pins are on the accessory connector at the rear of the radio.
