I'm looking for opinions on what type of telescoping antenna and I'm looking at this one from amazon:

Not sure if you've purchased the antenna in your link or not, but I've had great results with this Telescopic antenna for my Whistler TRX-1 (this will work with the 125at, as well):

Just be careful that you don't put too much strain on the BNC connector. I don't know how it's secured but if it's centre pin is soldered to the PC board then those joints are easily broken. I just use a telescopic antenna from a tranny radio and fitted a BNC plug to the end. It extends to 40 inches which is good for VHF low band.

Look on eBay, I got one there £10 called rubber scopic , works very well, also its band tunable,
