Television antenna

I am in the market for a plain ol' television antenna. Came across this on Ebay; It looks quite unorthodox and I was wondering if anyone's had experiance with the remote control antennas before.

Looking at the size of it, I would expect it to work best on UHF and rather poorly on Low VHF, but for local sigs, it would probably work okay. Pretty cheap. I'd expect the rotator to fail early and the antenna to work 'okay'.

I would not recommend using it for your scanner. You would probably get a commercial right in the middle of listening to a great pursuit

So what's the polarization of that thing? Along the long axis or short axis?

Seems kinda odd I think.In a way. Each straight section of the driven element is 1/4 wavelength.They don't touch in the middle either. That is the feed point.

Yep, right from China judging by the box. Loose the preamp and give it a try.

Or just get a Channel Master 4228a for $40 (plus shipping and rotor) and be done with it.
(For UHF TV reception of course).
