I used to hear TCSO on analog 155.9100. Did TCSO move to a new frequency? I don't hear traffic anymore on this channel.

Try DTRS talkgroups in the 6130 range on the non-Zone 4 sites, specifically talkgroups 6131 through 6135. I have not been able to identify the lesser used talkgroups.

6131: Unknown
6132: Teller County Sheriff Dispatch
6133: Teller County Sheriff Unknown, might be patched to VHF
6134: Unknown
6135: Teller County Sheriff Jail

A little bit strange that they switched so soon as it sounds like they do not have great coverage and are still adding sites to improve coverage, unlike Clear Creek and Gilpin who are adding sites before they switch.

Thanks for the reply back, I'll give these a try.

Teller SO has moved to DTRS. They started testing back in October and used P25 extensively during the Frazee Trial in November. Now, they are not using the VHF frequencies for anything other than one or two non-emergency units which have not been fitted with DTRS radios.

Now, nothing is patched to VHF, though they might enable that for a specific incident or event. But nothing on a ongoing basis. That patch was live during the cut-over period while they were installing P25 radios in the vehicles in November and December, but nothing since about Christmas.

I have never heard any traffic on 6131.
TG 6134 was used for security and transport during the recent Patrick Frazee trial. It has been quiet since the trial concluded. I am calling that a TAC channel
TG 6133 is actively used as a TAC channel - they refer to it as "SO2". But given the low level of "tac" activity here, traffic is rarely heard.
TG 6135 is very active for in-house jail comms and prisoner transport. Would you like to know how many shaving razors they handed out and collected this morning?
The main channel is TG6132 and that carries all the traffic that we used to hear on 155.910.

Teller County has allocated funds to move all departments off VHF/UHF radios and onto DTRS (planning dept, road-and-bridge, etc.). They are also actively working with the various municipalities and fire/ems districts to move to DTRS. Woodland Park PD is already on DTRS. Cripple Creek should be moving pretty soon. The various fire (6) and ems (2) districts will take longer.

At a meeting earlier this week I asked if the SO had detected dead spots and was told "no". I was surprised...we'll see if that continues to be the case as they migrate more agencies to DTRS.

I am down on the south side of Teller. Neither Tenderfoot II or Woodland park are getting any hits here. After figuring out how digital trunking works I programmed every site around the surrounding counties, 3 counties out. So far I am picking them up on 12 mile, Badger, Blowout, Deer peak, Greenhorn, Pueblo Chemical, Riley peak, Squaw, Sacramento, Twin, and Verdemount. On TGID 6132. Mostly Squaw, and Riley.

I programmed a system with just the sites that have got hits, and set it to ID scan and it gets a lot of transmissions. Someone helped me narrow down the frequency search in the sites, and it seems to pick up faster. They get pretty quiet at night so I am not sure how much faster than having just the sites programed in with all channels. I was told they are still working on the system, and there is at least one more site being built.

So, it has been fun figuring it out. Plus now it can pick up transmissions from a lot of agencies when set to ID search and/or the TGID's are in the system.

I recently purchased a new scanner so I can once again listen to the S.O. in Teller County, this information is most appreciated. As it will save a great deal of time once I start programming the new scanner.

You will really enjoy it for sure! Teller county SO deputies seem to be down to earth and I like listening to their calls. Don't forget to also add the troopers.

Do you by any chance know what happened to Cripple Creek? I have my scanner set to ID search often and have not heard them. They went off the air about 3 months or longer ago.

A few weeks ago I was driving through Teller County, and I'm pretty sure I heard "Charlie" call signs on the Woodland Park Primary channel. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to hang around and listen, but I'm wondering if the Charlie units were Cripple Creek. You would think they would be dispatched on the SO primary channel, but maybe the Charlie unit was just chatting for a few minutes Woodland Park primary or something.

Made a short RF recon trip to Cripple Creek today. CCPD is not on their old VHF freqs. Good news is DTRS TG 6138 was pretty active on the Tenderfoot II site. Bad news is it's encrypted. 6138 is not in the database. Teller SO TG range is 6131 - 6137 so I suspect 6138 is CC PD dispatch. Neither Woodland PD or Teller SO dispatch for CCPD. It would have been nice to observe a CCPD officer on the radio while TG 6138 was active but it didn't happen. No info on CC FD or EMS.

Teller SO still has VHF in most vehicles for poor DTRS coverage or special assignments but it is no longer patched to DTRS.

Thanks!. Let them encrypt away! Lol No need to hear anymore about all of the drunk Casino drivers getting arrested in their final years of life. AES usage is like finding gold in cripple creek, lol. Sorry I’m being facetious. Thanks for your reply,

I had heard they were buying a DMR system on VHF frequencies. The FCC ULS shows a bunch of frequencies for Cripple Creek that I am not familiar with, so that may be it. Theses frequencies are licensed for digital emissions. I have not had time to program the frequencies and see if they are active, though.

Good news is DTRS TG 6138 was pretty active on the Tenderfoot II site. Bad news is it's encrypted. 6138 is not in the database. Teller SO TG range is 6131 - 6137 so I suspect 6138 is CC PD dispatch.

This is an alternative possibility. Both 6138 and 6139 are encrypted and active. I had thought 6138 & 6139 were the TCSO encrypted channels, since I cannot see those guys operating without an encrypted channel or two.

But these could be CCPD and CCFire.

The ambulance works on lots of channels as they run all over Teller, into eastern Park (Lake George and Guffey). I think they also use the DMR frequencies that Ute Pass uses.

Awesome. That would explain a lot. I think you are right. Still monitoring the old analog sations, there is not much on them at all. Thanks

I think it is probably 6138 & 6139. Though am pretty sure the sheriff has a encrypted tac too. Which one of those may be. I pick up the UTE pass DMR they sometimes come out here, but rarely. I tried programming every frequency found on the FCC, but, either failed to do it right, or it was encrypted. I tried searching in the custom search ranges too and picked up a ton of the gold mine and casinos DMR, but no CC departments. Thanks for the information.

Yeah, I had stopped listening to them for a while right after TCSO went digital, just because for a couple months it was all I heard while trying to figure out where the sheriff went. The gaming calls were a little lame a lot. But was hoping to get the EMS/FD because they respond out here. But it is what it is. At least the TCSO was cool about it.

This evening I heard a CCPD unit talking to TCSO dispatch on SO dispatch TG 6132. TCSO doesn't dispatch CCPD.
