Anyone know if Telus is still doing the MIC service or is that kind of abandoned technology with advent of smartphones and all that ?

MIKE has been discontinued for in favour of PTT over LTE

Correct - TELUS MiKE (which was iDEN) is dead, but both TELUS and Bell offer PTT-over-LTE services. I would be surprised if Rogers doesn't as well.

Can a scanner pickup LTE (which is encrypted) and illegal in the US( which is why ALL scanners are cell blocked (cellphone frequencies blocked))? Impossible. WAVE is over data on LTE so unless you are CSEC or NSA the answer is NO

Unable to detect Telus Talk about frequencies with Freq Counter

Have tried in vain to find Motorola talk about frequencies and are not showing up even on Frequency Counter...Come to think of it frequency Counter does not seem to see any digital signals...perhaps the old school FC,s wont do Digital...

The MiKE talk about is frequency hopping. You'll never see find the frequency with a counter. You need a spectrum analyzer to find the channels it hops on
