I have my 996xt in the car with GPS18 installed.

Does anyone know a way to temporarily disable the GPS?

I know i can disconnect the GPS cable But since the radio is installed in the dash, I can't access cables.

Sometimes I want to listen to systems that aren't in the radius but can't without disabling this feature.

Thanks

Use the menu to set the port speed to a value other than 4800 will probably do it.

I found that it is a real pain to manage systems that you have gps enabled. What I have done for the most part was to put all my gps enabled systems under 1 quick key, that way I can disable them all at once. I then created duplicate systems or trunk sites with unique quick key numbers that can be turned on and off as needed.

I use the startup key function for that. If I power on with Startup Key 1, it uses my GPS-enabled systems. SK2 is my work configuration. SK3 is my home configuration.
