I wanted to know if anybody out there can tell me how to program this police scanner that I picked up it works but I don't know how to program it I tryed getting the manual for it but can't seem to find it. It's old I found out it was one of the very first programable police scanners that ever came out it's a Tennelec memoryscan-MS 2
If anybody out there can write me back and let me know where I can get a manual for this scanner or just tell me how to program it, it would be nice I have never seen a police scanner like this where it uses lights to program it.

There is a program at http://home.hvc.rr.com/bpetrow/ that generates codes for any frequency you enter. I had one of these radios a long time ago. If I remember correctly, to program it select the desired channel in manual mode. Press and hold the program button and enter the 1's and 0's from the code generator program.

Tennelec Programmable Scanner

:)

I knew a guy with one of those scanners. Cool unit.

I am curious as to quality of reception.

Sort of miss those old units with their red LED's.

My very first scanner was a 12-chan Tennelec I.

Thanks,
Julian

Thanks for giving me that web site I downloaded it and now I have that scanner all programed it works good all the police and fire are coming in good on just as good as my programable scanner. If I did'nt have that book there would be no way I could of found out how to get that thing working. It's just something to hear that old scanner work. I wanted to know when did they make that scanner does anybody know :?: I know when I was looking that scanner up on here most of the web sites were saying that, that was the first programable scanner that came out.

Just founfd this site and your discussion way way back about your Tennelec. I was curious if you still had it and how it is working if you do. I have a MS2 also great little scanner for being made in '75. It looked like you got the code Gen Program on line. I have it also. I just wish It would allow a low/high every .005 code Generation function. I would then copy it to a word doc and print it out. Can't have it all I guess. I started a yahoo group a few days ago to try too gather up some folks that have the unit. Getting people in one place we would be able to share info. Most importantly would be the Scanprog.exe and copies of the Owners Manual. Anyhow if you are still around come over to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TennelecScanners/ and join up.

I do have the original patent in the files section as a pdf. Includes function desciption and block diagrams & early production schematics.
