I have been trying to receive the state guard helo's and I have all three CP's frequencies plugged in 41.50, 149.800 & 373.900 in 3 different audio searches All, (Analog & Digital). I get what sounds like a signal on analog but nothing on the digital setting. It is not identifying the mode if it is in fact a communication of somekind. Also my next question is are they using encryption also? Now I do receive them on the TACN system when they land and take off for flight following in the clear. Now in the air I should be able to pick up the aircraft if they still use and of those frequencies. I am in Middle Tennessee so within ear shot of Nashville anyway. One more question if they do use the 41.50 is it in AM or FM because that is the one I have been receiving them on?

Use the higher frequency... for example, the tower would be 257.8. Emergency would be 243.0. The military aviation frequency band for communications is 225 - 328.6 & 335.4 - 400 MHz ... sometimes, however, military aircraft would also use standard civilian frequencies where military frequencies are not available.

Back when I lived in Nashville (3 yrs) 41.5 was their main ops freq for the helos and it’s in FM more. I’m looking in my radio that I had plugged any “CASH” (the call sign they were using) activity in so plug in 49.95 as I have it listed as “Ops” as well. Also some a/a’s i logged for the BNA helos (mainly the Balckhawks) were 30.5, 38.925, 39.8, all FM mode.
