This path seems to be somewhat similar to the one the database uses...
The Wiki is not the DB. The Wiki is supposed to be flexible and easy for a novice Wiki editor to add and revise information. Yes, it's good to have basic formatting standards. But, adding complex templates does not seem to be the direction that we need to go right now.

Agreed. I am acutely aware that the database is not the wiki; however, the point I was trying to make was that using wiki templates in this manner 'locks' you into a process that's somewhat similar to what happens with the database when it displays a Phase 2 system. I strongly suspect that the database is using a hard-coded page for this; both methods are very inflexible. It might have been appropriate back a few years ago when no one had really heard about MOTOTRBO or NXDN trunks; now we have them. Someday down the road, we may have yet another trunking type to consider.
