HP-2: Texas City Help finding channel/freq

I've searched this forum and have had no luck, so I decided to ask.

I'm in Texas City, Galveston county Texas. As many know the TC police went encrypted however the fire/ems still broadcast and I can hear them with the scanner radio app on my phone but I for whatever reason cant pick them up with the HP-2. I've tried all sorts of discovery and nothing however with my phone right next to the radio there they are. My database is all updated along with firmware. Any ideas?

Texas City operates on the TxWARN system. Somebody familiar with HP-2 will have to answer how to receive TxWARN.

Thanks, I do get txwarn and can hear all the other local non-encrypted and in discovery I can pick up TC police encrypted just the local fire/ems are no where to be heard at least on this radio.

You will not get them on discovery. You need to program the P25 system into your scanner with the sites they operate on. Sites 17 and 54 would be where I would start.



And the talkgroups of interest with service types enabled..

Pretty sure they aren't allowed on site 17, I'd concentrate on site 54. And make sure the appropriate service types are enabled as mentioned above.

After a little trial and error I have it working and again thanks for pointing me in the right direction!!!
Only thing I didnt understand was the band plan setup, but its working.
