159.2175 sticks out like a sore thumb. :)

155.475 and the future 155.4825

Many are duplex so you might need the mobile side like 154.68, 154.695, 154.6875. A1, A2, B1 and B2 have the repeater turned on and off frequently. It does seem that once a site goes digital these channels keep the repeater on.

155.535 is only used by Tx DPS in Richmond,TX. It was an old Fort Bend County SO frequency but when they went to 800 they gave the repeater to DPS..

Same thing seems to be going on in Ellis County. The entire county went over to East Texas Medical Centres trunking system, but the troopers are still utilising the old sheriff's department VHF repeater (155.835) by themselves.

Actually, only Waxahachie is using the ETMC system, Ellis SO and the rest of Ellis County cities are still on VHF. There is a ton of traffic on the VHF freqs.

Ooops! My mistake! I listened to the VHF channel for a couple hours late last night. All I heard at that entire time was the county dispatcher and state troopers, so I jumped to conclusions. Thanks for the clarification. I'm only 25 mins north of Waxahachie on 287, so I try to keep up with what is going on there, listening to their fire channels constantly, but not so much to the cops.

Much thanks. I just got my new BCD-396T and I'm programming the DPS. This scanner has one hell of a learning curve.

So I programmed all the freqs from the TX DPS frequency page on RR (Statewide APCO-25 Channel Plan). Some, like 159.21, are listed multiple times so I only programmed those once. I've entered these freqs into a new system in my BCD-396T. Now it seems to want talkgroup IDs but I don't see any listed. What am I missing here?

There are no talkgroups yet. The system is digital conventional system. The trunked system is about 5 to 6 years down the road. It will be after I retire in about 4 years.

So I just program them into the 396 as conventional and it will figure out that they're P-25 and decode what it hears?
