there are several proposals already filed or in the process of being filed with the FCC about 700 MHz and public safety.
1. would add the guard bands to the existing 700 MHz allocations, thus increasing the 24 MHz/ this would add spectrum outside of the Uniden range in their last scanners.
2. A petition has been filed to grant public safety an additional 30 MHz in 700, this would more than double the available frequencies.
3. Verizon has just announced a plan they are proposing to the FCC that would take away half of the 24 MHz from public safety and give it to verizon to build a nationwide 700 system. this would mean all the planning on 700 would have to be redone.

I believe that the FCC will make some changes to the 700 MHz. No one knows what?

TSIEC released a new interoperability channel plan yesterday (9/8/06)
They finally fixed the previously screwed up 700 MHz channels.

Looking at the plan, the specified P-25 NAC code is confusing. It is listed as "$061F". From a programming standpoint, you have the following choices; A-F & 0-9 as possible choices and a maximum alphanumeric combination of three digits. So, is the correct NAC "061" or "61F"? I believe their intent is 61F, but this plan as is opens the door for a critical mistake...

Well if they did that, how could the "after incident investigation" claim that there was no one to blame because agencies couldn't communicate properly.
