Wow, some Great ducting happening this morning in North Texas. The Scanner is a Pro-106 on a VHF 5/8 wave J-Pole at 35 feet.

In SW Fannin Co. I am listening to: Waco DPS, Hewitt, West, Navarro Co., Limestone Co., Houston Inter-Continental Airport, and numerous small county repeaters almost to Austin.

We have a Cold front out west and a Storm system in the 4 corners region of Colorado, Weather man says this is a Big Low pressure system. Might make for some great monitoring this morning.

DPS-Waco is blowing in at 4 bars on the meter. 155.4450 NAC: 123 McLennan Co. Sheriff and Lacy Lakeview both coming in at 3 bars.

McLennan Co. (Waco) Which I'm listening to now, about 200 Miles to the South. Houston about 350 Miles to the South. Austin, another 3 to 350 Miles South.

That is a nice skip. I am going to try and get some more distant signals on this next Tropo wave. I have been getting the Orange County Sheriff and Tampa Pd which are 100 and 60 miles away respectively when ducting is occurring. The Tampa system is 400 MHz. The OCSO however is an 800mhz trunk system and that is pretty far for that frequency. Putting an attic mount antenna in as soon as my coax arrives. I am hoping for much better performance on my scanner with it. Currently I use a Diamond RH77 on the back of my Pro 163.
