Over the last week Ive heard Tx Forest Service on 159.285.For Lubbock it is an unusal hit. Most of the transmissions are which roads to take as they are passing through. Looks like it is going to be another busy season for TFS fire fighters.

The following freqs were in use by TFS fighting grass fires near San Angelo in 2011.

122.925 - Texas Forest Service (TFS) units talking air-to-air on this

159.330 - TFS repeater. Air units using this one alot ** by far this has most activity of all freqs I have listed here **

154.280 - Texas Fire-1 (I believe)

TFS had a crew (a couple dozers and an engine) staged here last week for the wind events. They have since moved on. They also have a couple classes being held in Lubbock last week, this week and next week. Probably 40 or so of them roaming around for now.

Last bit of info, they'll be hiring a full time group for the Lubbock region in the next few months. Probably 10-12 full time fire positions.
