TG 10711 traffic. Very Interesting

Did anyone hear the traffic on TG 10711 around 5pm today? Sounds like whoever it was happened to be on a undercover operation because they were following a guy and reporting his movements. 10711 in the DB is Z3 - interop : special events 3, whaever that is? This traffic when on for about 1 hour and 10 minutes then went silent.

any ideas ???? sounds like it should have been encrypted to me? i logged about 10 unique radio ID's during this time.

Those Special Event talkgroups are mutual aid talkgroups programmed into pretty much every radio on the system.

As for the operation you heard, my guess would be that they had more than one agency involved and just needed to be able to communicate very quickly. Programming or loaning radios isn't a huge deal, but sometimes you have to communicate NOW and it's worth taking a chance.
