This morning about 6:30 there was an incident on this TG to which the VECC dispatcher "coded" this channel/TG and had non emergency traffic switch to channel 2.
Question is: What TG is channel 2 for Midvale/Cottonwood Heights dispatch?

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure Ch 2 the dispatcher refered to is VECC PD Ch 2 21504. I've heard Midvale/Ctnwd Hts on it every twice in awhile when Ch 1 is code.

So is TG 21504 Ch 2 specific to Midvale/Cottonwood or do other agencies such as West Jordan use it as well when their channel is coded for what ever reason. Utah County uses the service channel whenever they code North or South channels as does Provo use their service channel (Ch2) when 1 is coded.

Just curious for labeling purposes.
Thanks Jon for the info so far.

Coded is when they restrict radio traffic to a specific incident and send other radio traffic over to another channel.

What do you mean "coded"?

Here in Utah, agencies abbreviate some "codes". They may say "this channel is coded, meaning Code-1 Restrict this channel for some priority call.
An officer may say "I'm running code" Meaning 10-39 Lights & Siren (I don't hear Code-3 used around here)
Also, 10-20 becomes 20, likewise with 10-27, 10-28, & 10-29.
