I couldn't find the original discussion thread in the archives, but last night I heard TG 58336 with encrypted traffic. Shortly after, TG 12032 (Weber Strike Force) went active with the same radio IDs. Units were trying to find each other "are you on this channel?" Then they all came up on 12032, units were headed to West Valley PD HQ on Market Street. Sounded like joint ops with Weber/SL Co agencies.

Anywho, the original discussion was about who was using 58336, we were trying to decide if it was Weber, Ogden PD, JCAT units, Strike Team, etc. I propose with the positive ID of at least a half dozen Weber Strike Force radio IDs we call TG 58336 Weber Strike Force "encrypted". Sound good or do we need more verification?

I will reopen the discussion about this TGID 58336 which has been blaring all day long since early this morning.

The interesting thing about today's buzz is it appears only on MT Ogden on one of two frequencies. I have it setup on my PRO-95 with unitrunker on one computer and a PRO-2066 connected to another computer.....

The radio id's were four and consistant all day.....60105, 60109, 60112, 60096.......

The only two frequencies the encrypted conversations were being broadcast on 853.6250 and 853.9000 while all other activity was going on around it.......

RID 60105 109 Hits
RID 60109 112 Hits
RID 60112 122 Hits
RID 60096 108 Hits

I show all of those RIDs as Weber Metro Task Force.

Apparently only a few selected freqs on any site can support encryption. I see the same thing on SL Simo, encrypted comms only come up on 2 or 3 freqs.

I had information from a reliable source that WSF had gone encrypted. I believe that some of the "targets" were caught monitoring them. Anyway, I had no reason to try to find their encrypted channel, since I could not receive it anyway. Nice detective work kf7yn.
