When you guys are searching how are you pulling up the tg"s ? I am in stalker mode it does stop on a frequency but I don't see tg"s?

Program the trunked system normally but use "ID SEARCH" instead of "ID SCAN" (for Unidens) or "OPEN" mode (for GRE) and then everything that comes across the site will show up. One strategy to find new talk groups is to lock out all of the known talk groups so that you only hear the unknowns.

I keep a Pro96 with Pro96com going 24/7 on one of the towers I can monitor locally. All the known TGs are color tagged. That makes it simple to look at the channel grants and affiliation logs for new TGs on the system.
I also keep a BCD996T going with local and known TGs locked out so they will pop up. That machine is controlled with ProScan so everything it gets is recorded with time stamps, tower info and TG info.
All it takes is the wherewithall

That's much the same as I do it Bruce. Have one radio dedicated to a single control channel 24/7 running Pro96Com and in that I try to log new TG's and then have a 2nd dedicated radio running Pro96Com also only programmed with the known unidentified TG's and that one is hooked to a recorder so if any of those unknowns become active it will record the traffic to hopefully assist in id'ing the agency or area at least.

in stalker mode it will only show TGs on digital systems and it could be if it finds a control channel there may not be a TG Talking. or the frequncies may not even be digital
