I am not an owner but have a trunking question.

In the PSR-500/600 can you Pause on a TGRP object but continue to scan other sites in a system looking for activity on the held TGRP?

Here's an example: 10 TGRP objects programmed. 20 TSYS system site control channels. Activity heard on TGRP "A". You Pause, but the one and only unit affiliated on that site that you first heard moves to another site where others are conversing. Will the unit continue to look for activity on the other TSYS objects for just that one TGRP?

Thanks

Not if you hit the PAUSE key - that will disable the "MultiSite" function as long as it's paused.

If you hit the MAN key, though, it will continue to do its "MultiSite" checking of the other freqs programmed into the TSYS.

Thanks DonS & Skud,

Let me see if I understand. There are two operations related to 'holding'...

PAUSE will cause the scanner to stop on a TGRP object AND stop on the current control channel, and will not look for activity on either additional TGRP objects or TSYS object.

MAN will cause the scanner to stop on the current TGRP object but will continue to look for activity on the programmed and linked TSYS object control channels, but will also not show the 'alias' or name of any programmed TGRP IDs.

So in my example, I would choose MAN, yes?

PAUSE: stops on the currently-active TGRP object, does not perform any "MultiSite" sequencing in the TSYS. If the current CC is lost for some reason, the scanner *will* look through the TSYS's list for a new one. You'll also see any alpha tags programmed for detected RadioIDs.

MAN: stops on the currently-active TGRP object, performs full "MultiSite" sequencing in the TSYS. Any detected RadioIDs are shown as the "raw" ID value - the scanner won't lookup any alpha tags you may have programmed for those RadioIDs.

If you want to "pause on and follow" a particular talkgroup ID as its users move between sites (sites that use different control channel frequencies), you want to use the "MAN" method.
