Th-9800 for tnc

Hello everyone,

I have a tyt TH-9800 that I am trying to use with my kantronics kpc3 TNC. Has anyone made or know where I can find information on building a cable to connect the two. I have made cables for the baofeng uv5r and that was easy but for some reason this one is taking me for a loop.

from gentle googling, I see what would be throwing you for a loop. The uv-5r gives you everything you need right at the plug, and the 9800 seems to use a biphasic pin to do dual duty of both transmit & recieve audio. I found another link from several years ago, on another site, that seems to allude to using RX audio from the back of the radio deck. Apparently drawing PTT to ground keys the TX, uses the dual use mic pin for TX audio, and the RX is found elsewhere. There seem to be cautionary notes about the pinouts changing over time, so i'd be real careful.
