I'm asking if the K20 has different step sizes than the 281. I've downloaded both manuals. The K20 doesn't show the 2.5KHz step that the 281 has. It will make my mind up as to which radio I buy.

Your observation of the tuning step sizes in both manuals is correct.
Why either of them have the 6.25 step is beyond me. The new channel step
size for some portions of the commercial vhf band are 7.5 and not 6.25 as
shown for both radios. Apparently the Japanese engineers feel this is the
right way to set up these options for these radios.

Made a trip to HRO today and the K20 doesn't have the 2.5KHz steps like the 281. Nice little 2m ht though. Light weight and compact.
